Frequently Ask Questions

How many lessons will I need to pass my driving test?
Because the training is competency based, the number of lessons depends on you. As an example, some clients are able to sit for their driving test after a few lessons, while others may require extended training. It all depends on your level of driving skill, competency and confidence. Rest assured, we will give you an honest assessment of your competency level and tell you whether you are ready  to sit your test. The key to passing is lots of practice to gain confidence as well as having the appropriate knowledge, skills and attitude to pass the test and be a competent and safe driver.

Is it necessary for me to practice driving with my parents or friends?
Generally speaking, we would advise you to take professional lessons to gain sound fundamental skills. Once you have a sound understanding of the road rules and have a reasonable skill level, we encourage you to continue with professional driving lessons in addition to driving with an experienced  driving instructor, if you have the opportunity.

I’ve just got my Learner’s Permit. When can I sit for my driving test?
You must be at least 17 years  of age.
You must have completed your HPT test
You must have completed 50 hours driving, including five hours of night time driving

Where will we meet to conduct our driving lesson?
Our aim is to be flexible within the geographical area and we can arrange to pick you up from home, work, school or uni.

Are the examiners strict on driving tests?
Examiners adhere strictly according to assessment criteria prescribed by Western Australia. However, new drivers are not expected to be perfect and a small percentage of minor mistakes are permitted. If you have learned driving with a family member or friend, it is wise to have additional lessons with a professional driving instructor who will be able to assess and rectify any flaws in your driving. It is not wise to book a driving test without first having undertaken some professional driving lessons.
